About the IISET:
The Institute for International Strategy and Emerging Technologies (IISET) was established in 2026 to renew the mission of its predecessor, the Institute for International Strategy (IIS) founded in 2013. The IIS’ mission was to develop research and educational activities to address international strategy and related issues for Asia, the Pacific Rim and Japan. In light of the recent rapid advancement and proliferation of AI and digital technologies, IISET enhances this mission to further include frontier research in emerging digital technologies as well as in their impacts on business, government and society in international contexts. IISET now consists of international faculty members who conduct cutting-edge research in the fields of International Relations, Business Economics, Digital Business & Innovation and Data Science & AI. IISET faculty teach students in the E-track undergraduate program and the graduate schools of the university and supervise their research. In addition, IISET is expected to house interdisciplinary research centers such as The Center for Inclusive Business and CSR.
